2011 Most Ugly Dog Yoda

Yoda is a 14-year-old Chinese-crested Chihuahua mix. When Yoda's owner, Nicole Schumacher, originally found her, abandoned behind a set of apartments, the woman almost ran from fright--thinking that the little mutt was nothing more than an overgrown rat. The pup has come along way though, now weighing in at a whopping 1.8lbs. Who would have thought a fuzzy, bulgy-eyed chihuahua mix who is unable to retract her tongue would beat 29 other contestants with faces only their owners could love this year?!

2010 Most Ugly Dog Princess Abby

Princess Abby is the champion for the 2010 World's Ugliest Dog competition in Northern California. The title was won on Friday, June 27, 2010. She is a 4 year old chihuahua mix. For more information about Princess Abby and her owner, Kathleen Francis, please read:

2009 Most Ugly Dog Pabst

Pabst is a boxer mix with a huge underbite. He was not only the 2009 World's Ugliest Dog winner but he also achieved being the first mutt in seven years to earn this title. Miles Egstad, Pabst's owner and rescuer, couldn't be happier with this furry four-year old's achievements. What a handsome canine face, right?!

2008 Most Ugly Dog Gus

Gus is a one-eyed, three-legged Chinese Crested canine. In 2008 he took home the gold when winning the World's Ugliest Dog competition in California. Jeanenne Teed, his owner, cuddled her furry friend throughout most of the three-house competition as he quietly slept upon her lap. They were later flown to New York and appeared on the "CBS This Morning" television show. Sadly, Gus passed away from his long struggle with cancer at 9 years old.

2007 Most Ugly Dog Elwood

Elwood is not the most handsome 2-year-old Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix canine. As a matter of fact, his owner, Karen Quigley, teases by calling him "Yoda" or even "ET" on occasion. Quigley is said to have rescued Elwood when he was still a puppy, "The breeder was going to euthanize him because she thought he was too ugly to sell," she explains in a brief interview. Elwood has to travel from New Jersey to California to claim his much-deserved title of the 2007 World's Ugliest Dog.

2006 Most Ugly Dog Archie

Archie surprised nearly 1,200 fairgoers with his 2006 World's Ugliest Dog win. This canine is actually a Chinese Crested purebred, which seems to shock and amaze breeders. Heather Peoples, Archies loving owner, must be one of the proudest owners of an ugly furry friend, as she has attended competitions after his first victory. I can't blame her though, check this little guy out!

2003, 2004, 2005 Most Ugly Dog Sam

Sam, the purebred Chinese Crested canine friend of Susie Lockheed, shocked and amazed the crowd with his unique appearance. Sam is a 14 year old with very little fur, wrinkled and splotched skin, warts down his nose, and white-colored eyes (blindness). Sam suffered from congestive heart failure, lung, and kidney problems until he passed away late 2005. He won these ugliest dog competitions for 2003, 2004, and 2005 so his run of luck was pretty darn good for the old guy!

2002 Most Ugly Dog Rascal

Rascal is a purebred Chinese Crested with a quirkiness about him. He no longer has teeth but owner, Dane Andrew, doesn't have a problem with it at all. Rascal was such a great candidate for the World's Ugliest Dog in 2002, especially since his own grandfather named "Chi Chi" is in the Guinness Book of World Records for winning the most ugly dog contests in his lifetime (he went down undefeated after 7 consecutive wins). Andrew playfully refers to Rascal as Hairless Potter and Space Alien at times.

2000, 2001 Most Ugly Dog Nana

Nana was a small breed dog, weighing only a little over 4lbs. Her owner, Yvonne Varonis, playfully referred to her breed as a "Canardly" because "you can'ardly tell her pedigree." It is, obviously, assumed that Nana was simply a mutt, or mixture of various breeds, since she was purchased from a Santa Rosa shelter in 1992. She won the World's Ugliest Dog competition for the years 2000 and 2001, until she finally passed away at the age of 17 years old.
